Congratulations to our hero, our favorite athlete in any sport ever, Alex Ovechkin, as he recorded his 1,000th career point. He scored on his first shot of the game against the Penguins on Wednesday, with an assist by Nicklas Backstrom, of course.
The Russian Machine became only the fourth Russian player, behind former teammate Sergei Fedorov, Alexander Mogilny, and Alexei Kovalev, to record 1,000 career points.
