The Knicks and Kings worked out compensation for Scott Perry, clearing the way for the long-time NBA executive to become the Knicks new general manager.
Perry will sign a five-year contract to fill the Knicks’ front-office vacancy created when the team parted ways with Phil Jackson, a league source confirmed. Perry will work under Steve Mills, who is expected to be promoted to Knicks president.
The two sides reached a deal Thursday. But since Perry was under contract as Sacramento’s executive vice president, the Knicks and Kings had to agree on compensation.
The Knicks will send the Kings cash considerations and a 2019 second-round pick, a league source confirmed.
