TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Memphis women's soccer team suffered a 3-1 setback Thursday evening to USF in the first of two matches in Florida this weekend. Memphis falls to 7-4-1 overall and 1-1-1 in American Athletic Conference play.
USF capitalized early on the Tigers with a goal in the fourth minute and then again on a successful penalty kick in the 32 minute.
Even though the Tigers created multiple opportunities in the first half, Memphis came out with a strong sense of urgency out of the break. Ten minutes into the second half, cut the USF lead in half with her third goal of the season.
