TULSA, Okla. – Early runs scored proved to be not enough as the University of Memphis softball team suffered a 10-4 setback to Tulsa Saturday afternoon on the road. Memphis slides to 18-16 overall and 2-4 in American Athletic Conference play.
On a cold and windy afternoon, the Tigers jumped out early over the Golden Hurricane with three runs in the top of the first inning. With two outs and on second, Memphis strung together three-straight hits, including a double by , to score three runs.
Tulsa answered with one in the bottom half of the first and the Tigers immediately returned the favor in the second.
