STORRS, Conn. – The UofM softball team dropped game one of its three-game series against UConn on Friday. Memphis falls to 20-18 overall with a 2-5 conference record.
After giving up a five-run third inning, the Tigers' comeback fell short of overcoming the deficit. led the Tigers with a pair of hits. Freshman powered her second-career home run in the fourth inning.
Following a three-up, three-down first inning, the Memphis pitching fell into a slump, allowing big innings in the third and fifth innings.
The Tigers fought back, however, scoring three runs in the third inning.
