Former Kentucky head coach Rick Pitino earned his 900th career win this afternoon when St. John’s beat Xavier 88-83.
Pitino is the fourth coach ever to accomplish the feat.
“But 900 means that I’ve had longevity. I spent 10 years in the pros. And so, 900 with 10 years in the pros is really something I’m very thankful to all my players and assistant coaches for helping me get there,” Pitino said after the game.
Xavier, of course, is coached by Pitino’s son, Richard Pitino.
