The Dallas Mavericks finally traded Anthony Davis on Wednesday afternoon, as they traded him, D'Angelo Russell, Dante Exum, and Jaden Hardy to the Washington Wizards for Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson, Malaki Branham, Marvin Bagley III, two first-round picks, and three second-round picks, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.
Dallas ended the Anthony Davis experiment after just one year, and this deal with Washington may just put them in the perfect spot to secure Cooper Flagg's co-star in the 2026 NBA Draft. Not only do the Mavericks now own the Oklahoma City Thunder's 2026 first-round pick from this trade, but they're also in a good spot to tank for the remainder of the season with the hope that they jump up in the lottery once again.
