Just three weeks ago, the Clemson Tigers were the model of consistency in the ACC, on a historic road winning streak and with a resume that appeared immune to attack. But “lock” status is precarious in college basketball. After a fourth straight loss — a 70-65 home defeat to Florida State on Saturday — ESPN has officially downgraded Clemson in its latest "Bubble Watch." No longer a tournament certainty, the Tigers (20-8, 10-5 ACC) have entered the Should Be In category, which means while they are now in the right bracket category for now, they are no longer spared from catastrophe.
