Former Tiger Claimed off Waivers by MLB Team

A former Clemson standout has been scooped up by this MLB team.

The Baltimore Orioles announced Thursday that they claimed infielder-outfielder Weston Wilson off waivers from the Philadelphia Phillies.

Wilson was drafted in the 17th round (No. 501 overall pick) of the 2016 MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers and signed that June. The Phillies later signed him as a free agent in January 2023.

The 31-year-old utility man has posted a slash line of .242/.328/.428 with nine home runs, 11 doubles, one triple, 29 RBI, 33 runs scored and eight stolen bases across 103 games in his MLB career, all with the Phillies over parts of three seasons from 2023-25.
