The Yorktown boys golf team has already achieved the goal coach Nate McClung set this year.
He wanted his team to get back to state after missing the cut in 2015. He wanted the seniors to have one last run before hanging up their green and white striped shirts.
So now that the Tigers are in Carmel for the Indiana High School Athletic Association state championships at Prairie View Golf Club, McClung said the results are just gravy. He celebrated reaching the goal of a state berth last Friday by leaping into a water hazard when they finished in third at the Central Regional.
