MUNCIE, Ind. — It was about one year ago when Ball State coach James Whitford publicly and privately urged Tahjai Teague to shoot 3-pointers. When he is open, of course.
And that worked out well for Teague and the Cardinals. Then a redshirt freshman, the 6-foot-8 forward hit 41 percent (16 of 39) from 3-point range, which for perspective's sake, was above the team average of 37.9 percent.
This season has been a much different story, and Teague's shooting issues manifested again in Saturday's 73-58 loss at Western Michigan. He was 0 of 6 from 3-point range and is now 2 of 20 from deep this season.
