MUNCIE, Ind. - - The Ball State women's volleyball team opened play in the 2016 Active Ankle Challenge with a 3-2 (25-12, 21-25, 25-22, 20-25, 15-11) victory over UNCG Friday morning at Worthen Arena.
The Cardinals (3-9) were paced offensively by redshirt junior outside hitter Sabrina Mangapora who scored a match-high 19 kills.
Sophomore outside hitter Brooklyn Goodsel was close behind with 17 kills and added 14 digs for her second double-double of the season. Sophomore middle hitter Emily Holland added 10 kills.
Freshman Kate Avila continued to pace the Ball State defense with 20 digs, while classmate Hannah Smith earned 13.
