From sixth man on the freshman team to varsity star, the Wes-Del senior's game is no accident.

GASTON, Ind. — At the end of the 2013-14 boys basketball season, Wes-Del coach John McGlothin gathered the freshman basketball team and issued a challenge. If you want to get better, he told them, you have to get out there and work. It doesn’t just happen.

Sutter Foster was among those freshmen, though he wasn’t on McGlothin’s radar. He was a somewhat tall, goofy kid, McGlothin recalls, but he didn’t even start on a freshman team that won just four games.
