SHERIDAN, Ind. — They did it for the players on the team who had lost two straight sectional championships. They did it for last year’s seniors who showed up to watch this game. But most of all, Monroe Central did it for the community behind them.
The Golden Bears dominated the second half to pull away from host Sheridan and win the Class A Sectional 44 championship game 26-7. The victory marked the first sectional title in program history.
“You know the process – you have to keep coming back or you surrender,” said head coach John Hochstetler.
