KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Ball State baseball team erupted for 28 runs in two games Saturday afternoon to earn a doubleheader sweep over Western Michigan. The Cardinals prevailed by scores of 16-5 and 12-9.
Ball State (13-18, 2-6 MAC) piled up season bests in runs (16) and hits (18) in game one. Sophomore gave the Cardinals the lead for good with a bases-clearing single in the fifth inning to make the score, 6-4. Senior added a three-run home run one inning later to extend Ball State's cushion to 10-5.
Kennedy, along with fellow seniors and , and junior all finished with three hits.
