PARKER CITY — Monroe Central girls basketball coach Leigh Ann Barga challenged her team at halftime.
The Class 2A No. 3 Golden Bears, who went on to beat the Frankton Eagles 39-36, were trailing at the time 22-17. Just 16 minutes away from watching an impressive season fall apart in the Monroe Central Sectional semifinals.
They'll face the Lapel Bulldogs (18-5) in the sectional championship on Saturday.
"They realized it was get it done or go home, and we talked about it at halftime," Barga said. "They knew they were down by seven, but we came out and got it done.
