MUNCIE, Ind. — The 3,200 is sort of like a cross county meet, right?
It's better for Madeline Aul to think that way. As Yorktown's best distance runner on the track team, it makes sense that her cross country skills transfer over to the longest distance event offered in high school track.
Last fall at the Pendleton Heights Sectional, she finished in fifth place, fastest out of any Yorktown competitors. She was 11th at the Delta Regional and raced in the New Haven Semistate.
Her special combination of speed and endurance is the reason why she's moving onto the Ben Davis Regional next Tuesday.
