After the last two seasons, it is clear Yorktown and Wapahani are two of the top volleyball programs in Delaware County. The Tigers and Raiders have made a combined eight appearances at state over the past six years, with the Raiders winning four championships and the Tigers claiming two.
After winning last week, Wapahani coach Jared Richardson called the Raiders a dynasty. They lose just one player, Chase Curry, and remain loaded to make a run at a fifth title in seven years.
For Yorktown, coach Stephanie Bloom's team remains loaded as well. It may not be a dynasty yet, but with returning players like Kenzie Knuckles, Bella Rosenthall, Kylie Murr, Tegan Seyring and others, more titles could be on the horizon.
