YORKTOWN, Ind. — Emily Weiss had been projected to reach this point, but she described the days leading up to the Phillips 66 National Championships at the Natatorium at IUPUI as “nerve-wracking.”
That’s why on Friday when the breaststroker officially earned a spot on the U.S. team for the World Junior Championships, she jumped up and down and screamed in excitement. This is just another step to where the Yorktown rising junior ultimately hopes to go.
“Making this team for the future, it could potentially put me on track to make the Olympics, as long as I keep working hard,” Weiss said.
