Detectives: Kiante Enis 'knew it was wrong'

WINCHESTER, Ind. – Kiante C. Enis told authorities he learned the age of a 13-year-old girl only after they had sex for the first time.

However, Enis – the former Winchester Community High School multi-sport athlete arrested on Thursday, his 19th birthday – said he later had sex with the girl two more times and “knew it was wrong,” an affidavit said.

Enis was formally charged by Randolph County Prosecutor David Daly’s office on Friday with two counts of child molesting, a Level 3 felony carrying a maximum 16-year prison term.

An affidavit filed with the charges detailed the investigation by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department that led to Thursday’s arrest, which prompted Indiana University officials to dismiss the freshman from the football team.
