PENDLETON, Ind. - The Richmond softball team has overcome a lot of adversity this season.
Still, entering Monday’s Class 4A softball sectional 9 opener at Pendleton Heights, they were in the same position as every team in the state: Win or go home, and the Red Devils get to play another game.
The Red Devils overcame several rallies from Muncie Central, defeating the Bearcats 13-8 to advance to Tuesday’s 5:30 p.m. sectional semifinal opposite Greenfield-Central.
The Cougars outlasted Anderson 4-3 in Monday's second game after the Indians tied the game with a two-run home run in the top of the seventh to take a 3-2 lead.
