MUNCIE, Ind. — Perhaps the most intriguing commit in Ball State football's class of 2017 was quarterback Tyler Vander Waal.
He didn't play his junior year, is from California — a rarity among Cardinals recruits — and carried a three-star rating from 247Sports.
He flipped his commitment Wednesday from Ball State to Wyoming.
When reached by The Star Press, Vander Waal had nothing bad to say about Ball State. He simply thought he had a better chance at playing time with the Cowboys and thought he'd face tougher competition in the Mountain West than the Mid-American Conference.
