Former special teams coordinator Scott Fountain caught a lot of flak from Arkansas football fans during his time in Fayetteville, but he was quietly one of the best recruiters in the building.
Fountain was the only assistant to last the entirety of Sam Pittman’s tenure after following the Head Hog from Georgia. Across those six years, Fountain took a lot of criticism for the Razorbacks’ inconsistent special teams performances. But the 59-year-old brought a steady stream of elite kickers to Arkansas, including Cam Little, Jake Bates and Scott Starzyk.
Even outside of his own unit, Fountain was among Pittman’s most reliable henchmen on the recruiting trail.
