No. 8 Arkansas baseball spent most of the game in first gear, but did just enough to stave off Tarleton State with a 3-1 win Monday afternoon to close out a four-game Opening Weekend in Arlington. The final score matches the record the Diamond Hogs are taking home.
Arkansas fans got a first look at Vanderbilt transfer Ethan McElvain, one of the Hogs’ most high-ceiling portal additions of the offseason. The 6-foot-4, 250-pound southpaw was Perfect Game’s No. 49 prospect in the Class of 2023, ranked even higher than Arkansas starters Gabe Gaeckle and Hunter Dietz.
