The Arizona Softball team made a national statement by winning the series against the Ducks while the ‘Cats home run record was broken.
Until two weeks ago, both Oregon and Arizona were tied on top of the Pac-12 standings; neither had lost a conference game. Arizona then got a jump on Oregon when the Ducks lost two against the always-tough UCLA Bruins.
The Wildcats lost their first two Pac-12 games last week at Utah. Arizona barely remained in first place alone, and Utah’s successful weekend pushed the Utes ahead of Oregon for second place coming into this weekend.
