Patriots HC Jerod Mayo shares one lesson he'll use from Bill Belichick

For the first time this century, the New England Patriots are set to start a season without Bill Belichick as their head coach.

After a 4-13 season, Belichick and the Patriots agreed to mutually part ways and inside linebackers coach Jerod Mayo was promoted from within.

While it's important for Mayo to run things his way, he's not going to completely overhaul everything that Belichick built for the last 24 years.

In fact, Mayo, while speaking to NFL analyst Rich Eisen, shared a lesson that he'll keep with him as he takes on the new challenges that come with being a head coach in the NFL.
